ABOUT ME

Hanieh Yavari is a London-based visual artist and photographer whose practice explores femininity, identity, visibility, and everyday survival. Working primarily through photography and self-portraiture, she creates images that move between the personal and the political, examining how cultural and social structures shape the ways women experience, negotiate, and occupy space.

Her work explores the subtle psychological impact of constant awareness, investigating themes of visibility, vulnerability, resilience, and resistance. Through carefully constructed imagery, she seeks to make visible the often-unseen negotiations women make in everyday life, inviting reflection on gender, identity, memory, and belonging.

Interested in the relationship between the body, space, and perception, Hanieh's practice combines personal experience with broader social questions, creating quiet yet powerful images that encourage dialogue and challenge the ways we see ourselves and one another.
